Chic Backyard Cocktail Party Wedding

Today, we have an absolutely stunning wedding to show you that could change the way you think about the traditional wedding reception.

Allison Dan and Allison Dan were married in an exquisite ceremony in the garden of Dan’s parents’ residence. However, instead of a traditional sitting-down reception, they decided to have their wedding take on an elegant cocktail party vibe with different areas in the garden, complete with high tables, bistro lighting, and food truck catering.

A blend of casual elegance and stunning design, Allison wore a gorgeous Vera Wang wedding dress (the back is breathtaking! ). The tables were decorated with sequin-lined linens, and elegant floral arrangements were scattered all over. Also, there was that ubiquitous Swan float for the pool party!

With the help of Holly Patton of Perfectly Posh Events and photographs taken by Joe as well as Brittany at Blue Rose Wedding Photography, There are plenty of beautiful details to use for this gorgeous wedding.

Our Love Story

Dan and I have been close since 7th grade. Even though we didn’t meet in college until the end of our time, we remained very close and shared most of our free time at Dan’s parent’s residence, which was located in Woodinville, WA.

After high school, Allison went to Washington State University, and Dan stuck around in Seattle. We were good friends, even though we lived in different parts of the state. We also saw each other during breaks at school and during the summer.

In 2009, we met one another the night before Thanksgiving, and the rest is the rest of history! The two of us were almost inseparable immediately after the incident.

We chose to be married at the house of Dan’s parents because we have many happy memories from there, both as friends and also as couples.

Our Wedding

Our big day was supposed to be a grand event that was elegant and fun! Instead of a traditional reception, we chose to have a cocktail wedding that included some unusual touches and plenty of romance.

As we didn’t have a formal dinner, We created a variety of lounge areas across the property.

One area was filled with lawn games and furniture made of pallets we designed. At the same time, another had cocktail tables with gold-colored linen and tables at the pool that had a large swan swimming in the water because there is no complete party without the presence of a huge Swan!

The most prominent element in our design was the bistro lighting, which we strung across the property, creating an effect of a canopy over the lawn area.

We’ve picked a classic, elegant color palette that includes gold, navy light pink, white, and navy.

Guests partied all night long with a great band, and the party lasted until the early hours of the night!

The Photography & Videography

The photographer we chose was recommended by Holly, our planner, and we were amazed by Joe as well as Brittany!

Their classic and clean design was precisely what we had been hoping for in our wedding pictures. They were also extremely sweet, and we even had the idea of an ice-cream sandwich from their photos!

The videographer was in a different state, but we were able to hire him. He’s been a videographer for many of our weddings or friends of friends’ weddings, and we are amazed by the quality of his work.

Although we’re not perfect, believe the wedding footage we made is one of the top!

The Food

A memorable and delicious meal was important to us.

Our guests were treated to an open-air food truck serving Pacific Northwest and BBQ fusion food, “his and hers” signature cocktails, as well as the “build your own ice cream sandwich” food truck{ an absolute popular! , and our|Our|We also enjoyed our personal} favorite Top Pot Donuts for dessert.
