The current shooting is close to my own heart, as it focuses on texture and atmosphere over overt style and offers the classic rustic wedding on the farm design a modern organic makeover.
Photographed with Alexandra Wallace, created and designed with Kelsey Elizabeth of A Lovely Creative, and featuring a group of talented photographers who hail from Central California (one of my favorite places in the world!) This shoot is about simple romance, easy fashion, farm-to-table style, and an ounce of class and class.
With a distinct color palette that I’ve never seen, a black look so light! With rich textures and gorgeous flowers, this is packed with ideas for hosting a casual yet elegant farmhouse dinner.
I’m betting you’ll hit the “pin it” button quite often when you see this.
The Inspiration
The idea for this shoot was the way of life we live on the Central Coast of California. Modern take on the farm lifestyle, sharing meals and a good time around a simple yet elegant tablescape.
The weather is always pleasant, and this couple is enjoying golden hours on these rolling hills in San Luis Obispo. There are sun-kissed wheat fields and a clear blue sky nearly every day during the autumn.
A mood The light of summer is warm, airy textures, simple in design, a richness of fabrics, and weightless.
The color palette is Black, grey, blueberry, apricot gol,d and, ivory, and taupe, with hints of marble various mixed metals.
The elements are Medium-blonde wood 24-karat gold, copper marble, and rust, gauzy, imperfect fabric raw silk ribbons, ceramic white-washed stone pampas grass.
The Tablescape
Food and other produce are cooked for dinner with family and friends.
The table settings are captured in a rough, raw way, not precisely placed at each guest’s place setting.
Charcoal linens spill over the huge tables of the farm. Fresh Apricots, warm honey cheese, and a variety of fruit are available in the appetizer menu. Sparkling champagne and red wines at the bar accompany them.
The Venue
The venue for the wedding, Higuera Ranch, is a winery that has closed. It is now managed by a handful of ranching families in Central Valley.
The venue is seen as a “for fun” project and the ideal place to spend the vacations with their young families.
They are truly interested in every couple they marry and allow them to spend their time at the ranch, making it their home for the wedding weekend.
