25 non-cheesy poses for your engagement shoot

Are you planning an engagement shoot?

Anyone who knows me well (Claire is here, BTW!) will know that I’m not a fan of PDAs. I wouldn’t say I like PDAs. Mark and I will probably be seen kissing or holding hands for the first time by most of our friends on our wedding day (and we have been together for eight years).

So, after we got married, I was not too keen on the idea of a photo shoot.

I like the idea of taking candid, fun pictures of my husband and me in our everyday clothes. It’s a great way to capture a moment in our life that is so exciting. But most engagement photos are a little bit cheesy.

Engagement sessions, like boudoir shots, can be difficult to pull off.

The majority of photographers have a repertoire of poses that they can use. Still, some couples end up with a series of unflattering photos of awkward kisses, intense stares, and hugging.

You can be cliche and romantic (you are getting married!) You don’t want to include a picture of the two of you kissing on your save-the-dates!

Pin a few of these cute photos into your bag to make sure your shoot is romantic, relaxed, and gorgeous.
