The romantic ceremony at the beach was followed by a lavish indoor reception adorned with flowers in green and red as well as shades of jewel tones of violet and Burgundy. The whole affair was seamless as two weddings in one. It was one part a casual destination wedding, the other an elegant black tie wedding.

The Proposal
The planner that she is, Nikki, had this particular day set in her head from the beginning of January (in fact, she informed Rex when they rang in their New Year together that her New Resolution for the New Year was to get engaged) But always keeping her on track. Rex ensured the control was his own decision.
The day was Nikki’s birthday, and they were headed to Raleigh for a weekend. It was a surprise to Nikki realize Rex had hugely taken control and had a special present to surprise her later that night. The couple had plans for dinner at Midtown Grille in North Hills and were staying their evening at Renaissance Hotel. After an intimate birthday dinner, the couple walked towards their hotels on a very warm night of December, when Rex requested Nikki to stop at the foot of the huge Christmas tree in the middle of the city of North Hills. The tree was where Rex offered Nikki the greatest surprise of her life when he walked to one knee and then asked Nikki to get married to him!
However, it wasn’t the sole surprise Rex was planning for that evening! After a hug and kiss and lots of tears, there were shouts of congratulation coming from around the corner along with Cristi along with Ryan to express their congratulations! When they entered the foyer of the Renaissance, Nikki was again overwhelmed by surprise when she was welcomed by her closest friends in the Raleigh region, as well as her closest friends from school who come to attend the party! It was certainly an unforgettable night, and Rex did a great job and pleasantly surprised Nikki (with assistance from her pals).
