Modern Geometric Winter Wedding Inspiration

When you think about winter-themed wedding decor, your brain (or, in my case, at least mine!) immediately turns to evergreen leaves and red ribbons with tangerines cin, namon sticks, and a lot of fairy lights. The theme of this Hygge-inspired shoot pretty sums it all up!

Today’s stunning inspirational shootings show us a brand new approach to styling the perfect winter wedding. It’s modern, stylish, elegant and personal.

Drawing inspiration from what they see around, Aspen wedding planners Bluebird Productions fused both the Western spirit of their mountain town as well as the glam of the clients that visit the city. The wedding was styled with the Aspen Chic In mind. They paired geometric elements as well as a gold and turquoise color scheme with elegant arrangements of protea and traditional Southwest accents.

Photographed by Rachel Havel The outcomes, as you’ll be able to see, are gorgeous. No matter if you’re planning to get married in the snowy Aspen or otherwise, I’m sure there are plenty of inspirations to take from this fresh version of winter weddings.

From the Team Behind the Shoot

Western modern were words Janie and Morgan (both were born into high altitudes like Aspen or Steamboat, respectively) were unable to resist holding to when discussing the mountains they live in.

The contrast between these ideas was the basis of the design. It was a contrast of cowhide and ghost chair geometric gold against the old barn, the bright agate in front of an animal skull, the crisp white of snow, and some hints of turquoise.

In the midst of work ranches and working farms, Stetsons, furs, and turquoise along with precious metals (like the gold and silver which were extracted from Aspen and exported to the globe). Our ancient world inspiration for this idea came naturally.

However, Aspen is a place that no other location anywhere else in the world can match and is a Western town that is constantly growing in the near future thanks to the tourists who are from cities across the globe.

The town is able to maintain the tranquility of a mountain retreat. The city is home to black-tie events and a world-class orchestra, as well as visiting dignitaries and presidents as well as jets that line the runway.

Though Aspen’s dichotomy is something we experience all day long, we needed to come up with a way to showcase that in the eyes of everyone else. We were so thrilled to collaborate with Carolyn’s Flowers, who helped bring our ideas that seemed so far-fetched to reality.

We’d never known the term protea or even that this exotic tropical flower could survive the cold winter snow however, we knew we’d need it.

And the watercolor paper suite that was designed to complement the genuine gold and turquoise accents helped us understand where Paper Perfectionist came from. Paper Perfectionist got her name.

We were fortunate to collaborate with a group of vendors who have become wonderful friends with a great vision. Every time we collaborate alongside Rachel Hasl, we are enthralled by laughter and the stunning photographs she snaps.

We’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to share our story of our experiences in the mountain town of Aspen.

Wedding planners in the local area say “Aspen chic.” Just brush across your lips unnoticed since they’re in the lexicon of everyday life and an integral part of our society.

What is second nature for us (lucky enough, Aspen home in some way or another, primary, second, or native) was yet to be identified for all of the other nations.
