We love peonies, like really Love them!

Add a few peonies to an ordinary bouquet to take it to another level. They can be ruffled romantically and come in a variety of colors, from soft to bold.

When we met the talented (and lovely!) When we met the beautiful (and talented!)

Only 10% of the flowers sold in the UK are actually grown on British soil. Great British Florist, They are trying to change that.

Who better advise us on when to plan for a peony-laced wedding and which peony alternatives we should choose the rest of the time?

Take it away, guys!

The Expert Guide to Péonies

Peonies, a symbol of happiness and wealth, are a popular choice for bouquets by brides.

Peonies make stunning bouquets and table decorations. Their large heads, ruffles, and ruffles are loved the world over.

They come in a variety of colors, from princess pink to coral and burgundy.

Their large heads make them ideal for table arrangements, floral crowns, and bouquets. They are also great to use in DIY bouquets.

Peonies look stunning when arranged with roses or lilies. Their range of colors will suit any color scheme.

You can also have a bouquet made entirely of peonies without any other flowers. If you like the traditional look of weddings, you might want to consider an arrangement of white or pale pink peony blossoms.

Coral Charm peonies can also be used to create an exotic look. This coral beauty will look stunning when combined with a variety of bright yellows and pinks.

Peonies are not available all year long, which is why we love them so much.

They are usually only available from May to August in the UK and often since Spring in the US.

This can mean that peonies are a bit more costly than other flower types. Some brides plan their entire marriage around peony seasons!

We were able to extend their season this year by four weeks by preserving the peonies in our cold room. We also have dried peonies that look beautiful and are available year-round!

Imported peonies are available in late summer, but they are very expensive. We at Great British Florist feel that our flowers should not be flown.

The peonies I imported would likely come from New Zealand, and, as a result, they might be nearly dead when they arrive.

Locally grown flowers are fresher and more fragrant, lasting for longer. This means you can keep your bouquet or floral crown long after the wedding.

Remember that peonies are large-headed, and you won’t need many of them to fill up a bouquet. To reduce the cost, add some extra foliage to your bouquet to create a natural and wild appearance. Consider a minimalist bouquet with only one or two peonies.

Other Peonys that are Just as Pretty

There are alternatives to the full-headed, romantic, and fluffy peony.

Cabbage Roses, Dahlias, and Carnations are all full-headed and romantic-looking peonies. They can be purchased at a lower cost and for longer periods.

Grouping flowers can make them appear bigger. This is especially effective with pinks and ranunculus.

If you’re planning a wedding, the available flowers will depend on when the wedding is scheduled.

You may love peonies, but they are not the best flower for a wedding in winter. Check out our free ebook to learn how to make the most of your flowers at your wedding and when they are available.

They are absolutely gorgeous, aren’t you? It’s amazing that I didn’t even know what Cabbage Roses were! Thanks for the tip! The Great British Florist has been a great help in educating us about peonies.
