Romantic Military Wedding Planned In Just 8 Weeks!

A wedding is always romantic.

This usually means that the couple has already worked hard to build their relationship. The couple has spent time apart and made sacrifices. This makes the wedding more special and more of a celebration.

When we saw the beautiful Kendall and her handsome Air Force groom, Garrett, as well as their beautiful photographs by Kati Rosado Photograph, it was impossible to wait to share this Florida wedding.

We can’t believe the number of personal touches that this couple managed to add to their wedding in such a short amount of time.

The Oleg Cassini dress with long sleeves is one of our favorites! Kendall was a beautiful bride. We are in love with her succulent bouquet, and we also love a wedding bride with bangs.

Garrett’s formals were a great addition to the day and helped inspire the color palette. Military dress reminds you of a romantic old movie.

Our Love Story

We met in college. Both of us were in the last semester before graduation. We had never completed our math course. Garrett was in Air Force Training, and we spent as much time with each other before he left.

While he was gone, we wrote back and forth every day. In the fall, I flew to Texas to watch him graduate. He asked me to marry.

We had planned to wait until the summer of the following year to get married. However, we learned that Garrett may be stationed in a far-off place for several years. We didn’t like the idea of being apart and decided to marry now.

We pushed our wedding back to the week after Christmas. We pulled off a wedding in just eight weeks, thanks to the wonderful local vendors, my mother, and Stephanie Starke, our wedding planner.

We learned shortly after our marriage that we were going to be stationed in Germany (where we now live)!

The Inspiration

We didn’t really have a theme. We were so rushed to plan it that we just wanted it to look nice.

We tried to avoid a Christmassy feel since it was three days post-holidays, but it was still Winter – Florida winter.

Garrett’s uniform was dark blue, so we chose that color. It looked great and went with everything. My mom and I loved it.

It was important to us that it be intimate. We wanted to have a small, intimate wedding with our closest friends and family.

The Flowers

Our flowers were done by Patti from Buds Etc. Her arrangements are stunning. She asked us what we wanted and then made it happen.

There were peonies and berries, as well as eucalyptus. She grew some of the largest and most beautiful succulents I’ve seen.

After the wedding, I took cuttings, and they have grown into little succulents.

The Attire

I wore an Oleg Cassini dress for David’s Bridal. I brought my father to shop for dresses because he is very important to me and has an excellent eye.

We tried on several dresses that were very nice. But as we were leaving, we noticed, and my mother said we should try it to see.

My dad’s reaction when I put it on before I looked in the mirror was what made me realize it was the right one. The sleeves, the details, and everything were perfect.

My bridal party wore David’s Bridal dresses. David’s Bridal may not be the most unusual place to buy apparel, but they have really pretty dresses in nice colors.

Men’s Warehouse has a wide variety of hankies and other items for men.

This was the perfect solution for us in a hurry. My best friend found the dress, and she and her partner looked great in it.
