Today’s wedding inspiration photoshoot is a real treat.
BridalMusings is a big supporter of marriage equality and actively works to bring diversity and equality into the weddings we feature and the features we post on our blog.
We are proud and honored to be able to show off the best of the North West and Oregon’s vendors, who all support marriage equality.
This shoot features Adam and Andrew, a real-life couple photographed by Brittany Lauren Photography. It is a beautiful inspiration for an elegant fall wedding with a rustic mountain backdrop, chic dessert tables filled with cocktails and cakes, stylish autumnal clothing, and romantic floral arrangements made of maroon flowers, berries, and succulents.
The shoot was conceptualized and coordinated by Joni Whitworth, aka Mint & Mirth.
Portland-based bartenders offer delicious and creative cocktail recipes, as well as services for weddings and special events.
Let them tell you more about the concept and people who helped bring the whole thing together.
As wedding bartenders, we are frequently asked to take part in photoshoots that have a styled look for magazines and blogs.
These collaborative events are an excellent opportunity to show off our work and meet other talented vendors.
We are the only LGBTQ wedding company in Portland. I’ve noticed that there is a distinct absence of articles featuring gay, lesbian, or transgender couples. It can be very isolating to feel like you are the only one!
In order to address this issue, a photoshoot was created featuring the beauty of wintertime in the Pacific Northwest with a couple that is gay.
Adam and Andrew have been together for several years. This shoot was an opportunity for us to celebrate their relationship by creating beautiful portraits while also showcasing Pacific Northwest vendors who support marriage equality.
The year 2014 will be a very exciting one for the marriage rights of LGBTQ people in Oregon. The wedding industry in Oregon wants to support Oregon’s move towards marriage equality.
To bring awareness to this issue, I gathered a group of vendors who were passionate about the cause.
Miller Farm Retreat’s wonderful family (who cleaned up their forest for days following a major winter storm) is just one of the vendors we worked with. Aerin, from Royal Steamline Invitations, created the cocktail recipe cards and invitations. Lane, from Something Borrowed Vintage Rentals, styled and designed the entire shoot. Katie, from Duchess Clothier, fitted both gentlemen with beautiful bespoke suits.
The inspiration for our photo shoot came from a color combination: the contrast of oxblood-red with the wintery weight of snow on Mount Hood.
We imagined a relaxing, cozy, and beautiful afternoon to capture the intimacy between Adam and Andrew.
