Spotify playlists and ideas for wedding music

We’ve already said it, but we’ll repeat it.

Never (ever!) Never underestimate the power of wedding songs.

Like, ever!

Many couples leave the planning of their playlist to their DJ or forget about it altogether. We’re here for you to tell you to choose the songs!

It’s possible to spend a fortune on flowers, wear the most beautiful dress, and deliver a speech that will blow everyone away.

Your guests’ tears at your vows or their joy as you dance to your first song and the ache the next morning from dancing all night are much more memorable and personal than any candelabra centerpieces and hand-painted seat charts.

We’re always working on playlists and posts for you because we are so passionate about Wedding Music and encourage couples to create their perfect wedding soundtrack.

Follow Wedding Musings on Spotify to never miss out on a new playlist. If you’d like help creating your own, please let us know in the comments section below.

We have a first dance song, cocktail hour songs, and wedding floor filler music all on the way (and we would LOVE to hear your suggestions!).

Wedding Songs Around the World

We’ve found it funny that the first dance, party songs, or recessional music can vary so much from one place to another.

Ed Sheeran and Kodaline were the first choices for dance music in England this year, while John Legend and The Lumineers were the top picks in America. Couples looking for more alternative and indie music for their wedding will enjoy acts like Hozier or Bon Ivor.

Frank Sinatra is one of the most popular artists, followed by Michael Buble, Coldplay, and Etta.

Spotify has released two playlists containing the most popular wedding songs around the globe.

We expected some (John Legend’s all of me) while others completely surprised us (Robin Thicke blurred lines –seriously, has anyone listened to the lyrics? ).

The analysis included over 400,000 wedding playlists. We hope that some of ours are on there! They found that Ed Sheeran and Jason Mraz were the most popular, with many of their songs appearing on the lists. However, oldies such as Elvis and Etta were still loved.
