It’s a sunny Sunday in London and the perfect time to go for a walk (and perhaps even have a pub meal).
Before we left, we had to show this lovely wedding film.
We’re huge fans of Wedding Videography around here. When we learned that the groom was also a videographer, we knew to expect some stunning shots as well as quirky features.
Shiyin & Qifei, a couple of Chinese descent from Canada, met in Singapore & married in Mexico.
Qifei, the co-founder and director of Focus Production, is a wedding cinematographer. When he and Shiyin went to Cancun to celebrate their destination wedding, Qifei brought his colleagues along to capture the experience!
It’s a gorgeous film with beautiful cinematography at the start, Chinese games and fun in the middle, and an unusual vow delivery at its end.

The wedding of Shiyin and Qifei has a special meaning for all of us at Focus Production. Qifei, one of the company’s co-founders, is beloved by all our employees.
The friendly culture and warm weather of Singapore had always attracted Shiyin, who met Qifei while they were studying. They wanted to have a wedding venue that would remind them of where they first met and fell for each other. Cancun, with its beautiful beaches, warm weather, and friendly culture, was the obvious choice.
The team was delighted to be working in a new place and also for the opportunity to spend a week on the beach!
We decided to use all of the footage we had taken during our time with them, including their arrival in the city, as well as the time they spent together prior to the wedding. We filmed a few time-lapse clips to show the beauty of this location.
Qifei has been the photographer for many weddings over the years and knows exactly how to make the day special.
Both the bride and groom have Chinese ancestry, so unique Chinese wedding features such as tea ceremonies and door games are essential. It’s the first time we have had to film a door game in a swimming pool.
After hearing all kinds of wedding vows in his role as a wedding videographer, Qifei chose to do something unique and recited them together with his wife instead of one by one like most couples.
It’s a wonderful way to start your marriage working as a team. The line “We are an awesome couple who throw awesome parties” is one of my favorite vows.
