The Ethereal Wedding: Something Blue

Weddings are something we look at a lot. We look at weddings a lot!

Decor themes, dress styles, popular flowers, and my favorite color palette.

It’s fascinating to see the evolution of the current colors, from the deep purples and reds of a few decades ago to the blushes, taupes, and soft pinks that are so trendy today.

If you ask me which color I think will be popular in 2016, the answer is blue.

The combination of dusty blues with peach or white tones is a very pretty one.

Emilie Anne Photography and Alexandria Wedding & Design created this inspiration shot.

This rustic, natural setting is the perfect example of mixed blue tones working in a rural, whimsical environment.

The Shoot

Scroll down to see the (gorgeous!) full-length video. Emilie Anne Photography tells you a bit more about the shoot.

This romantic inspiration shoot is based on the soft, ethereal color palette of blue against lush greens in a moody woodland. It’s romantic, free-spirited, and supernatural.

To enhance the beauty of this shoot, we hiked through a dense forest to reach an open area covered in lush green ivy.

The table setting is a wonderful way to bring the shoot together. It includes three different cakes and goblets in silver, glowing candles, plates and pottery with intricate details, and a table runner.

Each cake was designed individually to bring more variety to the table but still maintain a cohesive look.

The cake is decorated with a bundt, greenery, and blueberries.
