Freedom Shores Resort, nestled in the hills of Airlie Beach, is one of the most unusual wedding venues in Whitsundays. Our wedding packages offer ocean-front luxury and exclusive use at our resort, including boutique-style accommodations, your own beach, and lush lawn areas.
You will enjoy stunning ocean views from every room at the resort. You can share the resort’s 14 rooms with your family and friends. You can choose from one of our boat bungalows, larger resort rooms, or the famous Beach Shack, which has your beach and lawn. This is also known as the ultimate location for a wedding. The famous Northerlies Beach Bar & Grill is also available on-site. It’s a local favorite and one of the most oversized Whitsunday beach bars. This is a great place to go for pre- or post-wedding activities. Imagine island vibes on a mainland. Enjoy the best of Airlie Beach luxury at Freedom Shores Resort. For restaurant and resort guests, we offer a complimentary courtesy bus that runs from 11 am to close each day.

Freedom Shores Lawn- Large lawn surrounded by palm trees and with a beach view on one side. This space is versatile and can be used for any type of ceremony, including a marquee, teepee or open-air. There is power and lighting on site for catering, music, etc. Also, there are plenty of spaces for the photo booth or dance floor.
Beach Shack- This is where you can set up your aisle and get ready for your ceremony. There are many photo opportunities and places to enjoy post-ceremony drinks.
Northerlies – Every weekend, live music is played in our on-site restaurant. A Thatched Beach Hut is also available for casual cocktail receptions. It is located on the beach and has nearby dining areas open to the public.
Shangri La Deck – This small deck is great for pre-wedding cocktails or recovery breakfast.

It’s a pleasure to be part of a couple’s special day. Weddings are full of energy and excitement. Our resort is intimate and our staff feel like family. They make guests feel at home, and offer a luxurious, intimate experience. We love to show off our region
What advice would you give to couples who are planning a wedding?
We recommend that you hire an experienced planner to plan your wedding. A wet weather plan is also a must.
