Don’t let the rain in the forecast make you feel down. I love you! This mysterious, cloudy Ozark wedding demonstrates how romantic wet weddings are. Who doesn’t like waffles? (No one, nobody will turn to waffles).
I do not know about you; however, my husband and I are “morning people.” Our favorite time during the week is our luxurious mornings spent together, where he does his French press while I bake and cook in the kitchen. It’s our everlasting love affair. So, I identify with the couple’s decision to hold the breakfast and coffee-breakfast morning wedding. Who would want to sit around all day to say, “I do to you?!
The event was held at the home of the bride’s grandparents. The day was filled with personal moments. Everyone from the family contributed their skills to make this stunning, magical day, including the locket of Bride Maggie’s grandmother, along with a cinnamon roll recipes, Groom Aaron’s handiwork creating the altar, and the couple’s parents decorating and making favors to celebrate the day.
In all the adorable particulars of their day, we need to say that we are especially attracted by Maggie and Aaron’s heart-shaped waffle cake. What cute!?
Our Love Story
We had a Sunday lunch at the church. There was a potluck at church on the day I was in attendance. He usually eats lunch with his brother and sister-in-law, and after church, he hopped in their vehicle as usual. But, before leaving the parking lot, he demanded that they take their car and informed them that it would be better to have a meal at the potluck that day. He returned to the car and found the empty seat next to mine!
My family visited me one Sunday evening, and my dad was taken off to have a secret conversation. I’m sure my dad had warned him about what he was getting himself into! We were staying at his place for a bit later in the evening, and suddenly, he went to his room and returned with a present in his hand. He proposed right there and there. It turns out that the man had been thinking about a proposal to Crystal Bridges (a beautiful local museum) the following week. He was too excited and couldn’t stay any longer! This was perfect.
The Dress & Attire
My sister came across the bell sleeves bolero and told me, “Maggie this is it. This is yours.” She was right. I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for in an outfit. However, I knew I wanted oversized bell sleeves and lacing. Once we found the bolero, we didn’t have to wait to locate the right dress with it!
Leigh of Inverness truly helped make the day unforgettable. We visited several places, but her concern for and genuine love for her brides was unmatched.
This crystal crown is designed through Talk to the Palm Crystals. The designer creates stunning designs and is a joy to collaborate with! I also was wearing my maternal grandmother’s silver locket. My sister had just got married two months earlier and was wearing the same locket!
Aaron’s suit was purchased from the racks at JCP. He picked everything he wanted, and it looked amazing! The biggest purchase was a brand new pair of boots for the wedding!
The Venue & Vibes
We decided to hold our wedding reception and ceremony at my grandparents’ farm. I (the bride) had a childhood filled with birthday celebrations, Easter egg hunts, and family gatherings there. Aaron first discovered that area of Arkansas when he was in love. It’s incredibly lush and green and is close to the Buffalo National River. It’s pretty beautiful.
The idea wasn’t too exaggerated. We knew that we wanted our entire family and friends to attend but also to reflect a relaxed, natural atmosphere. Aaron created the arbor as well as the benches. We knew we needed to bring out the green field and pines, so we went with the jewel tone and neutral shades.
It did rain in the morning, so we also stumbled upon an airy feel and look!
Vase and vine designed our gorgeous bouquets of greenery and the greenery placed in the arbor! It was simple and beautiful!
