It’s a gloomy Sunday morning as I type this after returning yesterday from a much more pleasant, sunny Spain. My husband and I spent two days searching for the perfect venue for our wedding in 2020, and I am thrilled (understatement!) to report that we picked the perfect wedding location for us.
The trip was not just incredible from a personal standpoint but also exceptional from a professional perspective. For the first time in my life, I could step into my bride’s bridal party as they began their wedding tours on their way to Italy ( where I typically run the business). I’m now fully aware of the rollercoaster of emotions that accompany it; excitement is the predominant emotion; however, there are also moments of anxiety and anxiety if we fail to locate the perfect venue. The somewhat daunting moment of committing to the date and the location, the tears of joy, and the subsequent overwhelming rush that followed after we discovered the perfect spot!
I’ve returned home with a fresh knowledge of the venue searching process. I’m able to give my top advice in the search for the ideal wedding location:
Being a planner, it’s possible to say that I’m biased in this area, but the wedding we’ve booked has a coordinator. I’m blessed to have one of my good friends, Dyana, who is an incredible wedding organizer ( Optimum Weddings). With her team, there’s nobody I’d rather trust with the organization of our wedding.
However, as with every newlywed couple, we jumped straight to the internet and began looking for a venue. We were utterly flexible regarding the forum, but it was about establishing the right atmosphere for our wedding and choosing the location and venue to offer the right atmosphere. It would seem like that would be easier. However, it wasn’t. We were overwhelmed by the variety of options of locations, logistics, and locations, and our research had no reason to be there.
After a brief conversation with Dyana and Dyana, we began eager to plan a wedding in Spain. The team quickly offered us several venues, and we could see that the pressure was lifted from this involved portion.
Most importantly, we would never have found our stunning location without online searches. A planner is an expert in their region and knows the secret treasures!
In the ideas for venues we received, we had a distinct frontrunner. It could have been easy to schedule a short trip to see only one location. But I’d suggest looking at other properties.
Events often look different when viewed when viewed in photographs compared to actual. Sometimes, the reality can be more beautiful than the photos. However, this is not always the case.
Don’t put yourself in a position where you’ve been to the place but aren’t organized enough viewings in the event! It’s always helpful to have options available, even if the ones you do not like at all aid in deciding on the most suitable one.
It’s crucial not to look at multiple properties. The options are great; however, having too many choices will leave you feeling overwhelmed and could be counterproductive. (To be honest, the same goes for shopping for wedding dresses!)
Instead, focus on improving your list and choose 4-6 destinations you can visit personally. Think about your priorities; what would you give up and not compromise on? I quickly realized that having a plan B in the event of rain was vital throughout August in Spain!
Please make a list of your budget and adhere to it, and then narrow down places that are appropriate for your budget. There’s no more incredible feeling than falling in love with a venue you cannot afford.
