Hello Hi! My name is Jackie of the Nearly Newlywed! As a long-time fan and associate of Bridal Musings, I was happy to be able to join the team. In terms of things, I couldn’t be better than to have my first job covering the latest wedding dress trends during New York Bridal Fashion Week 2018.

Because of the internet and trendy resources such as Bridal Musings, Fashion design, art, and culture are all at our fingertips. Women are increasingly tuned in to their desires and looking for them, which was evident in the majority of the collections this year.

From brand newbies to veteran industry professionals, The choices and mood were diverse and multi-layered. A lot of what we came to be awed by was the variety of options to personalize layers of removable components, layer-able pieces, and dresses that were easy to alter with a change of style. We experienced a feeling of individuality, not indulgence or a strong female character. However, there was a gentleness.

Many of the looks suggested the more traditional, regal wedding style, but they were paired with (and did not seem out of place with) modern miniskirts and tailored suits. The minimalist style of the structured, measured, complemented the romantic and non-apologetically extravagant styles.

Accessories were everywhere and weren’t too shy: bows, beads, and caps, oh my! On dresses, we saw high necks, long sleeves with plunging v-necks, high-thigh shoulders, off-the-shoulder, and puff sleeves that marked silhouettes that stood out. Star motifs were printed on prints and embellishments, and natural, fresh florals were everywhere, from boas to hairpieces and the ceiling droplets that cascaded over.

A traveller, blogger and my own photograph expert, I love to share my experiences and stories on various interests. Know what you should be aware of before travelling, at how to stay at camp and other cool facts at DJ Approved.
