I know what you’re thinking: did we not let go of Claire? Unfortunately, Bridal Musings combed the wedding world to find another bride obsessed with flower crowns, wedding-loving Claire Eliza.
Since my beginnings, I’ve traveled across the globe, photographing 70 weddings and obsessing about wedding gowns, contributing weddings to Bridal Thoughts, and during “the big day,” I am a photographer or therapist, bridesmaid sewing-in-the-dress seamstress for emergencies mom-in-law navigator and the crier.
I’m the bridesmaid at the wedding that meets the groom and bride that morning and weeps all night long behind the camera. I’m an absolute dummy. I’m eager to cry over the weddings of your loved ones and reveal all the chic inspiration Bridal Musings has provided me with.
I’m a Bride Too!
A little over one month ago, while on vacation on holiday in Milos, Greece (which I strongly recommend), my friend Jack and I hiked up an unassuming mountain in the most charming town of Plaka to enjoy the sunset over the Aegean. As we reached the summit, Jack and I were close, and he told me, “You know how I always tell you I want to spend my life with you..” And he put his hand in his pocket. I gasped. He got up and kneeled, and we laughed and cried when he said yes. It was a magical moment.
We’re currently planning our wedding, and I’ve already gone through the BM archives to find many ideas and ideas. For example, “If you’re having an intimate faraway wedding, is it okay to throw a big NYC engagement party bash?” (answers appreciated!) I’m looking through the destination section to find the most suitable Airbnb villa for the event.
My Wedding Style
I’m a rural girl who was raised playing with horses across the Pacific Northwest. When I started my career as a photographer, I spent my time in NYC’s concrete jungle NYC (Williamsburg, Brooklyn is my hometown) as well as my beloved Paris.
I’m nostalgic for boho-inspired dresses, as well as flower crowns and country barbecues. However, the New Yorker in me has become dominant, and I am drawn to elegant suits, silk slip gowns, and Rime Arodaky’s “rocker bride” persona.
I envision that we’ll walk across the aisle to country music from Glen Campbell, and we’ll be taking our fellow city dwellers to enjoy a fun and trendy foodie celebration. Because we’re always on the road, it must be an international wedding. Jack is hoping for it to be similar to Cecelia or Dario’s. I’m planning to utilize all my wedding abilities to get it done.
For me, it’s all about the two of us getting married. I’m looking forward to the intimate and joyful celebration that we will share with our family members and acquaintances. The one thing I will offer to my brides-to-be is that no matter what you decide to do during your ceremony, you don’t need to tell people about your plans to create your event to be a complete “you.”
Favorite Wedding Features
I’m very fortunate. My group of friends is filled with former clients’ wedding guests, wedding parties, and old friends who became brides and groomsmen. I’ve shot the majority of my friends’ weddings, and I can tell you about myriad amazing experiences and unforgettable evenings.
Leila And Arnauld’s Moroccan celebration is a week that I will never forget, from the laughter and howling in the Hammam as women scrubbed salts onto my knees, which had been scraped, to the henna celebration that was brimming with dancing and music performed by dancers from every family’s village.
On the day of the wedding, some people were snake charmers, Tarot readers, Moroccan pancakes, five different dresses, henna artists cooking pigs and scorpions swimming in the water, as well as a celebration which ended when everyone left at seven am.
I could write books with all of my wedding memories, but this is for a different time. For now, you can go to my website to learn about my Seattle Pizza Party, my Alsatian Princess, a Night in The Ace Hotel, and so many others.
