Jess and Jeff’s colorful country cottage nuptials at Litchfield Hills in Connecticut are so beautiful we can’t stop looking.
The bride’s Lazaro wedding gown and her bouncy curly hair are absolutely stunning.
Jessica was not only a stunning bride, but she also created all the paper goods. Her floral patterns and motifs will make you feel like Spring is here!
The reception took place in a barn decorated in rustic chic perfection, with fresh flowers in milk glasses, delicious farm-to-table style dining, and a Motown Band to get the party going. The log fireplace also served hand-rolled cigars.

The Theme & Colour Palette
The theme of our wedding was Rustic Vintage Elegance. Our color palette was a mixture of seafoams, corals, gold, and ivory.
The Flowers
All my flowers were to have a coral-and-peach garden feeling. Soft and natural.
Bridal Bouquet: coral peonies with peach garden roses. craspedias with maidenhair ferns. Wrapped in burlap and tied with ivory lace ribbon. Secured with pearl pins. My grandmother’s 1920 brooch.
Bouquets for bridesmaids made of coral peonies and peach garden roses with craspedias, green mini-hydrangea, and lace ribbon wrapped in burlap.
Centerpieces: I collected mismatched vintage glass vases on a lace runner and filled them with coral peonies, peach roses, yellow grasped as, peach flowers, yellow florists, and green hydrangeas.
The Ceremony
The Bellini was served to guests as a welcome drink. The altar was a unique design created by my florist (azalea). It was built around a vintage front door from Sassafras Vintage Rentals. I collected vintage handkerchiefs from Etsy and flea markets to give to my guests. My mother and I both spent many days assembling the program fans. My mother helped me make my wedding day special. My bridal party included a few friends who flew in from San Diego. Instead of having my best friend stand next to me at the altar, I chose my brother because he’s my true best friend.
The Venue
The Winvian is a luxury resort/spa in Litchfield, CT. It has 113 acres of land and 18 individually designed cottages. This oasis is unique because of the 18 architecturally designed bungalows that my guests stayed in. Names like “Secret Society,” “Artist,” “Treehouse” (suspended between the trees), an adult-style treehouse, really cool, Library, and The Helicopter. “
The Photographer
Lauren and Michael, a guy + girl photographer, were hired to capture our special day. We liked their artistic style, and we wanted to have more shots that were not traditional for our wedding.
The Reception
The reception took place in a barn. Tea candles and bistro lights were strung along the beams. We rented farm-style tables with gold chairs and scattered lace and milk glass vases as centerpieces. The food was served farm-to-table style. We started dinner with a summer salad made in the Winvian’s garden and then had a Painted Hills Farm filet of beef served with Maine lobster tail. The dessert table included French macaroons, petit fours, and our wedding cake from “The Sweet Spot.” We also served four different types of wine: Momo – Sauvignon Blanc; Brix – Pinot Noir; Gary Farrel Chardonnay; and Monsanto Chianti Classico. We wanted to make sure everyone enjoyed good food and wine.
Unique Details
I wanted to make my wedding personal. I also wanted to give my guests the impression that our wedding was a reflection of us as a married couple. I created menus, thank-you gift bags and tags, escort boards/ cards, programs, and table numbers. I customized my stamps, even though they were a little over the top (that’s just me being a graphic artist!). I was very particular about the personal touches and good food & wine.
