Even though you’re an ocean away, it doesn’t mean you won’t be able to pull off an incredibly glamorous and pleasant wedding. Lauren and Stefano selected an amazing, beautiful Italian villa overlooking Lake Como for their party, and it fulfilled every one of our dream wedding destination dreams.
The couple, who is a jet-setting couple, was engaged while in Venice (swoon!); therefore, it only makes sense they found the perfect Northern Italian destination to share their joyous moments with friends and family. Jeff Brummett Visuals Photos are as stunning as the landscape and the night that was unfolding.
In the absence of ever seeing the venue, Lauren made very simple and precise choices which were easy to arrange to a distant florist. The choice of only one hue for their flowers, white, meant that all the decor was perfect and looked elegant and elegant against their black tie bridal attire.
The Proposal
I was in the city of Stefano from Modena, Italy, where he was employed at the time. He amazed me with a trip to Venice, and it was among the most beautiful destinations I’ve been to. The day we got engaged, we were walking around the city, and a mysterious lady came up to us. I didn’t understand her. However, she was very ecstatic, and she kissed us both on our cheeks, asked Stefano to snap a picture of me and her, and then left.
Then I asked Stefano the reason she seemed happy (because he’s fluent in Italian). She told me we were soulmates and eager for the future we’d have together. It’s possible she was drunk by the afternoon spritzes, but I’ll accept the opportunity to be happy with it. In the evening, Stefano took me to watch an orchestra in a Venetian church. It was stunning. Then, we met up at a café located in Piazza San Marco. We sipped two bottles of Prosecco. We listened to the band and soaked in every second of Venice. It was magical.
At 1 a.m., the band began to stop, and it was starting to pour. Stefano was able to pull me out of central Piazza. It was peaceful and drizzly; he got down onto one knee. He pleaded with me to remain for my entire existence with him. I’m not sure exactly what the man told me (oh, there were two glasses of Prosecco!); however, I will never forget the rush of happiness, love, and pure joy that I felt that day. I phoned my parents and asked, “Are your passports up to date? We have an Italian wedding to organize”.
The Attire Details
As a token of my past, I wore my great-grandmother’s ring. It’s 134 years old, and my father was eager to present it to me on the day of my wedding.
The thing that I borrowed is the veil. It was my friend Allyson’s. I was the seventh bride to wear it.
When it came time to pick up Stefano’s ring, he contacted me to duplicate the circle of his father. A brief history of the crew of his father–his mother, Jane, was the person who designed the call of his father. I was able to take the engagement ring to a jeweler, and they created a replica of Francesco’s ring made in white gold. Francesco wears the gold ring, while Stefano has a white gold model. It’s fantastic!
I couldn’t think of a reason to get my blue thing. Therefore, my pal Emily put a little piece of blue confetti out of the welcome boxes inside my shoes.
The dress I chose for me was HTML0. I wanted something light, fun, and romantic. Stefano dressed in his suit with a silk grosgrain detail. I was in love with the look. He looked as if he stepped straight from the runway of a Ralph Lauren runway.
The Venue
We’ve always wanted to have a party! Both of us are from Texas. However, Stefano’s father is Italian, and his mother is British. Texans, Italians, and Brits all want to have a wonderful time. We knew we wanted to have the wedding to be in Italy. We just weren’t sure of the location.
Stefano was employed for Italy in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, and for obvious reasons, he was keen to locate it in Northern Italy, and I needed it to lie close to water. So we picked Laglio, situated on Lake Como. We rented this gorgeous villa for three days; it felt like we were on vacation with our close family and acquaintances. A large party in a stunning setting was exactly what we wanted.
Since I couldn’t get to Lake Como before the wedding, I planned everything blind. To keep the flowers simple, I wanted to use only one color, white.
The Dinner
Stefano is an experienced chef, so food and wine were clearly an important factor, and so was music. For a fun party, all you need is good people, food and music! We decided not to have an official wedding reception – it was the best. Decision. Ever.
The Desserts
Cakes for weddings are a classic Italian wedding cake called millefoglie.
Additionally, Stefano’s family comes from Perfugas, which is a tiny village located in Sardinia. In Perfugas, there’s a bakery that creates the most stunning Amaretti. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, like me, it is a dream to think of this amaretti every day until you get another. I haven’t had this Amaretti since 2011, and Stefano’s incredible Aunt Anna provided two bottles to Stefano’s wedding. The cake was fantastic. However, this amaretto was just perfect.
