How To Choose Wedding Flowers For Each Season

Are you looking for the most effective method of choosing the wedding flowers? Opting for wedding flowers during the right season will not only match your stylish interiors with your natural outdoor decor, but you can save some money as well! If you buy out of season, florists must ship winter palms to faraway tropical locations, adding to the cost.

I’ve always loved the Brits for your stunning, gorgeous, beautiful, lush gardens. Our expert, Sarah Loughrey-Jennings of Hidden in the City Flowers, will delight us with gorgeous flowers for every season across the UK.

Brides are often anxious about deciding on the exact flowers they’d like to include in their bouquets as well as table decorations. This is where choosing the right florist comes in. When you visit The Hiding Place within The City Flowers, we are in the process of asking our clients, “Do they have an example of bouquets they love? Do they have a specific flower they’d like to add?’ and ‘What’s your color scheme? Then we explain that the goal of all discussions or mood boards is not to know the style of their guests and for them to be able to trust our advice (the professionals) to recommend the types of flowers that are suitable for their needs.

The idea of buying seasonal flowers is associated with the common accessibility of vegetables and fruits all year long. There are, however, some kinds that you can purchase all year long, like certain types from Roses or Lisianthus. But, the majority of our favorite varieties are seasonal, and wholesalers will only be able to provide their florists in accordance with these seasons. It is a general rule there is no way to get fresh flowers from Lavender in December. Before anyone jumps into a debate with an additional caveat, I base my claim on the fact that its quality is high enough that you’d want to offer it for sale and that it lasts longer than 4 hours after purchasing it!

It is common to see lists of flowers that are seasonal, and when they’re available, that’s why that’s why when asked to put together “A Seasonal Flower Guide,” I decided to include the flowers that I love to see every season. I’ve divided my selection into months; however, as they are organic products, we may see certain types more than anticipated. The flexibility of your florist to choose what is best for you can ensure that you receive the top of the bunch!

January to March

British Tulips are the time we’ll see this gorgeous flower bursting into bloom with stunning varieties of artisans from the UK. They have a long neck that is sleek and looks beautiful dripping out of arrangements. Don’t limit yourself to the classic ones. They come with the most beautiful edges, like parrot heads, and incredible hues and colors. I’ve seen charges that appear like someone has meticulously painted their petals using tiny brush strokes.

Icelandic Poppies – they come into play thanks to delicate petals that resemble paper with bright yellows, whites, and peaches. The stems are long, and they bend and twist into different shapes, making them ideal for creating a stunning when arranged in simple vases or for mixing into more intricate arrangements.

Catkins at this time of the year is not always a good time in the world of foliage, but that’s the time when our florists here in Hiding in The City Flowers are drawn to nature’s “pods,” which are small Catkins hanging beautifully from the branches that have weathered and are waiting to bring some drama to our gorgeous arrangements.

Fritillaria at the end of March, you can notice the ascent in the marches of Fritillaria. These are the guys with strong personalities, and their unique heads that are turned down are truly captivating. They are available in a variety of colors, including tall, striking oranges and tiny purples. I love to put them in single stems in recycled bottles to create romantic, relaxed weddings.

April to June

Foxgloves are the time the time that huge Foxgloves appear and disappear. A short time but worth it! Many people ask me what my favorite flowers are, and I usually don’t respond, but I do think Foxgloves are among the most romantic of the garden flowers, adding so much beauty to an arrangement.

In April and May, we also witness the continuation of the poppy; however, this time, it’s the beautiful red variety with a vibrant purple center. The leaves and stalks are lovely, delicate teal green that contrasts with the bright petals beautifully.

Peonies are calling all brides! The season for peonies is upon us! The most well-known wedding flower is available during this time of year, so it’s important to hurry up. You might be able to get the flowers in July, but you shouldn’t put the last Rolo on their perfect. My best tip is If you need peonies, but they are not in season and you want to have a gorgeous garden, a lovely textured Rose could have the same romantic vibe.

Leaves and Grasses – OK, I’m aware that they’re not as sexually appealing as cascading Lilies or delicate Poppies. But trust me when I say they’re the best for making stunning bouquets. I am awestruck every time we can see British leaves appearing at the New Covent Garden Market. Imagine beautiful Artichoke leaves, Meadow grasses, Angelica stems, Hosta leaves, and Bullrushes.
