Planning A Garden Wedding? Save These Ethereal Decor Ideas

We can’t get enough of garden weddings. A venue and design trend that’s been booming and only getting more gorgeous by the season.

And, if the title of your own wedding Pinterest board reads ‘Garden Party Wedding,’ we’re adding more creative ideas to our inspiration mix. Set at the perfect venue, Filoli Gardens, this wedding inspiration designed by Something Blue Productions celebrates color and modern design. Rarely shying away from a rainbow of colors ourselves, we’re thrilled to showcase any point of view that encourages couples to go beyond the monochromatic box.

Onto our favorite creative decor ideas, pressed flowers appear aptly as escort cards, and lucite boxes frame a pastel rainbow of floral arrangements. Meanwhile, in the treats and tipples department, guests can wander the floral grounds to find a cupcake tree. Mini desserts levitate in the forest thanks to additional modern acrylic boxes.

From Something Blue Productions

One of the first things we think of when we start designing a wedding is what is our color palette. But for this shoot, I wanted the answer to be all of them – bring on all the colors! So often, people shy away from many colors, and we’ve started using that as a safety net. While a monochromatic wedding will always have a place in my heart, color isn’t scary!

Kandace Gonzales Photography pulled together the most incredible group of vendors to make this dreamy wedding shoot come to life. For this look, we started with these great Velvet Rose and Velvet Azure linens from Napa Valley Linens and bounced off from there. Our excellent florist, Floret Beginnings, embraced the color with roses, garden, spray, dahlias, delphinium, cosmos, and so much more from local growers to give us all the classic romance and whimsy we needed. With modern touches like all acrylic signage, the seating chart boxes, the place cards, table numbers, and everything, we made the traditional new again. The intricate details of beading and lace on the Essense of Australia dress had the perfect modern look that still had all the right touches for the garden and pulled everything together seamlessly!

Our show-stopping piece, though, is our cupcake tree! Surrounding our beautiful cake, we hung cupcakes in the tree so guests could pull the bottom of the box off and enjoy a delicious cupcake from Angel Cakes. Just steps away, Sips and Baubles had the most beautiful bar service on site!
