I love seeing how unique and different each wedding is.
We shared with you on Friday a beautiful city wedding, complete with urban venue, chic styling, and creative detail. Today, we share the same.
These two celebrations are not at all alike.
The downtown LA bash on Friday was minimal, modern and informal. Today’s Brooklyn Wedding is romantic, whimsical, and classic.
Tatiana Jones, Whimsy Weddings styled Gerdy & Ahmet’s wedding beautifully. The day was adorned with pink flowers, gold adornments, and elegant finishing touches.
They were able, with a warehouse-style setting, to perfectly balance their whimsical décor and their urban location.
This is one of those weddings that the bride smiles from morning until night. There’s so much to love about it.

Our Love Story
We met thanks to a mutual friend at a Super Bowl Party.
Ahmet proposed to me in Istanbul, Turkey, near the Bosporus River.
What words best describe your wedding day? Romantic, Intimate, Classic, Timeless, Elegant, Whimsical.
Our Wedding
I wanted my wedding to be romantic and timeless.
We wanted to make it classic and elegant, so we went with a matte blush pink and gold color scheme.
The Ceremony
Since my husband is Muslim, and I am Catholic, I felt blessed that he agreed that we get married in the Catholic church.
I have always felt that getting married before God was important. Finding a church where we could do this meant the world to us.
Dresses
My mother bought me two dresses that I loved.
The first dress was a Martina Liana gown, with delicate and lacy sparkles on the entire shift. It shone with each step. The change had a gorgeous train and buttons all along the back. I wore it to the ceremony.
The second gown was by Maggie Sottero. The shift has a corset-back and bustle. The dress was great for a party.
The Photographer
The same photographers who took our engagement photos also shot our wedding pictures.
The pictures were so good that we asked him to photograph our wedding. They did an amazing job of capturing the special moments.
The Venue
As soon as we entered the space at 26 Bridge, we imagined ourselves celebrating our most important life event with family and friends.
We were given a blank canvas to run with our imaginations. It was incredible to see our vision become a reality.
This venue had the perfect balance between an elegant, timeless feel and a strong, rough look.
Refreshments
Mark, a friend of ours and a mixologist himself, created a unique signature cocktail called “Love-a-rita,” which is now our trademark drink. It was a rose-raspberry water margarita with Himalayan pink salt on the rim. The garnish consisted of rose petals.
I surprised my husband by giving him a groom’s-cake.
Tatiana helped us find a baker with amazing skills who made a French Fry Cake with Nutella.
It was a great surprise for him. It said, “You’re the Fry for Me.”
