This dreamy wedding from Branco Prata will help you to increase the romance in your life. You can expect magic with Sofia and Andre’s florals and styling behind the camera.
A mix of romanticism and classical style with a contemporary twist inspired Ligia and Pedro. The color scheme was soft pink and green, mainly boosted by Quinta de Camarinha — their historical (and pink) reception venue. They included personal photos, poetry, and beautiful words at their wedding.
Ligia completed her bridal look with a classic a data-lasso-id= “27329” href=” http://bridalmusings.com/2012/04/the Bridal Ballerina Bun: Inspiration, Top Tips & DIY Tutorials”>ballerina bun/a> topped off with a retro headpiece made by her mum. She finished her bridal look by wearing a classic bun, topped with a retro hairpiece made by her mother.

The Ceremony
We chose (from those allowed) the reading for the ceremony, which was held in a church. The poem “Para Atravessar Contigo O Deserto do Mundo” by the Portuguese poet Sophia de Mello Breyner was also read. It was a special ceremony because the priest was a close friend of the groom.
Wedding Style and Vibe
From beginning to end, we believe the wedding was a reflection of us. We found the venue to be exactly what we wanted. It had the style and glamour of an old house, with a romantic atmosphere. We wanted people to feel as if they were in our home, so we tried to make them feel at ease. It helped that we had some of our furniture in there (nice pieces important to us).
Decor & Details
We wanted to maintain the romantic style of the venue. We chose a pale palette of colors, from pink to beige and then green. Sofia Ferreira and Branco Prata were a great help with the decor. She transformed the space into something special, which matched our style.
We decorated the different areas with candles, flowers, words, and pictures. We did a lot of DIY, including the menus, windmills in different colors, and the poem for the backdrop. Pedro’s dad made a Polaroid picture frame for us.
Refreshments
The venue opened with a variety of appetizers and refreshments. The starters included flavors from around the world, such as Morocco and India. The formal meal was then served with Portuguese cuisine. A chocolate and berries cake with ice cream was served to finish.
The Music
I walked down to Mendelssohn’s wedding march. The wedding was traditional, and we wanted it to stay that way, but Pedro entered the church to the tune of Queen’s “I was Born to Love You”. The exchange of rings took place to the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “All I ask of You” from Phantom Of The Opera. We still played “Amazing Grace,” “Gospel,” and “Ave Maria,” all by Schubert, during the ceremony. As a newlywed couple, we left the church to the tune of “Somebody To Love” by Queen.
We chose Muse and Florence and the Machine for the venue because they were powerful and breathtaking, and we loved them. The first song to be played was a medley. The first dance song was a medley. Then it was all 90s dance music and 80s.
The Photography & Videography
Andre Branco Prata is the only person I would hire to do my wedding. We were attracted to his natural, romantic style. The Amazing Rabbit, a videographer, was also involved. We used to say they were from the same school because they had the same manner. They also complimented each other’s works. We were very happy with the result.
Favorite Moment
The vows were my favorite part, as that is what the wedding is about in the end – love.
Advice for other couples
We were lucky to have started planning five months, but the fact that it was a Friday in May definitely helped. We were able to get all the vendors that we wanted. It is important to choose vendors that you feel comfortable with and who are professionals. This can make all the difference. You can find inspiration and ideas by searching the internet. Every day, I read Branco’s blog for tips and images. Pinterest is great, too, as you can add pictures you like to create your style.
