Rustic wedding inspiration for winter

Rustic Weddings have become increasingly popular in recent years. Brides and grooms will continue to favor barn venues, bare table settings, and organic floral arrangements for many years to come.

Rustic weddings are often not as elegant or formal as many couples would like for an event so special as their wedding.

The inspirational photo shoot today shows us that rustic style can be refined AND romantic all at once. Beautiful photography is by Christy Wilson Photography, and styling is by Elizabeth Ulrich Design.

This shoot is full of beautiful ideas for rustic weddings in winter, a season that’s more often associated with starkness and sparkle.

Why would we describe the entire shoot when we can hand it over to the stylist, the talented Elizabeth from Elizabeth Ulrich Designs, to tell us a bit more about its concept?

The Stylist

I was inspired by the rustic grandeur of the South when I worked with Christy Wilson to create the photo shoot. We were both drawn to the beauty and luxury found in grand Southern estates mixed with rustic stone and reclaimed wood.

We chose Homestead Manor because we loved the look and charm of the homestead.

Homestead Manor is a beautiful oasis of lush green grass, gentle hills, and a calming landscape.

The venue’s jewels are the antebellum house itself, a plantation-style home of 4,000 square feet built in 1819 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It also includes the barn, which is modeled after an equestrian-style stable from the 1930s.

The rustic-meets-elegant barn, with its high ceilings, the towering fireplaces, and the dramatic chandeliers, provided the perfect blend of rusticity and richness that set the style.

We worked hard to add soft, romantic touches to rustic wood and stone elements in the manor. The Farmer’s Florist provided the lush florals, rich raspberry colors, and fruit that adorned our sweetheart’s tablescape.

This resulted in a mix of soft and hard, a style that always inspires.
