Have you thought of bringing your wedding dress to their honeymoon? I do not know about you; however, I’m planning to savor the entire “bride” thing for all it’s worth, even following the “I do’s” all the way through our Southeast Asian honeymoon romp.
You may be looking to get those luxury hotel rooms or wedding dress shopping has you imagining all the informal (and expensive) additional gowns you could include in your wedding dress code. There’s plenty of space to dress as the bride you are when you’re on honeymoon.
From robes to swimsuits and sandals to elegant gowns, we’ve uncovered plenty of white outfits to remind all, “Yo, I’m still the bride.” We’ve compiled a few options for different styles of honeymoon and made it easy to locate your favorite and shop for them at the bottom of this post!
The Culture Trip
Do you have plans for your week of charcuterie and wine fromage and baguette out on the patio in Paris? These outfits scream casual-cool city brides, effortlessly shifting from the daytime snooping at Musee Orsay (maybe you can draw the line with your wedding card?) to an endless evening of natural wine and sardines in Buvette.
However, don’t be swayed by the notion that everything has to be casual. This slip dress from La Robe silk slip gown is a perfect example of the cool-bride style of her main collection, but it is still available and easily shopped on the internet. The dress can be worn for a delicious meal at the Dauphin. You can put it on for the morning in your lovely Marais garden-view flat.
The Adventurous Desert Romp
Are you planning to fly out of the Southwest to enjoy a hip adventure with your partner? There’s no better place suitable for spontaneous wedding shoots than the desert (ahem because there’s no one to observe!) So make sure that your wedding day outfits are Instagram-prepared.
We can envision you enjoying the Joshua Tree camp in a bikini and the Dallas Robe made by Loulette Lingerie. Then, set up the tripod for a stunning sunset photo photograph with your sweetheart in this boho-chic Free People dress (is it you, or could this be your primary bridal gown?)
The Relaxed Beach Vacay
From top left to bottom: Anja Swimsuit by Free People, Aruba Sandals by Free People, Sari Straw Bag by Free People, Tassel Shift Dress from Mango.
Jack and I have become both adventurers regularly, traveling for work all the time and hopping around the world for wild weddings, so our honeymoon plans include a trip from our gorgeous home (wherever that might be) directly to the beach. So, with that in mind, I’m not wearing a lot (imagine the wink emoji here).
A relaxing vacation at the beach is a must with a favorite swimsuit (or two or four), beach-appropriate accessories (aka can be destroyed by seawater and sand), and a cover-up of some sort. I’m a fan of this off-the-shoulder style of swimsuit, which screams “bride,” and you can be certain that I’ll be sporting cute straw sandals and a bag that will be a perfect match!
What about my cover-up? We’re waiting to get the Moroccan-styled caftan by cool-bride designer Rime Arodaky. It’s just enough design and structure that will cause admirers to think, “Is it lingerie or daily wear?” In the event the fact that I work from home, I could easily imagine myself declaring that I’m still a bride wearing this dress well after the honeymoon.
