Michael & Carina Photography captured this beautiful Southern engagement shoot on film. It features a golden willow, a curious pony, and a couple who are in love.
Rosemary, aka Miss Virginia 2012, is a student, and Ryan is her fiance. Both are graduates of William and Mary in Williamsburg. It was only natural for their engagement photo shoot to take place on the historic campus, where they have shared many special moments.
Michael and Carina, the photographers, explained that Ryan was constantly pointing out landmarks on campus during the shoot.
Rosemary, according to Ryan
The warm sun forced me to squint as I walked through the back of my dorm. As my eyes adjusted, I noticed a blonde girl seated on the red brick wall. She had her legs outstretched and a book on her lap. Her bright yellow dress was almost as bright as the sun. I stopped for a second, captivated by both the scene and the girl. She was radiant, serene, and peaceful.
My heart clearly did not move when I finally left my spot. Rosemary had me hooked even before we spoke. We would talk for hours, sharing every detail of our lives. She was my absolute love, and it is still true today. Rosemary was different. She was strong and capable, and I could feel a tender, loving heart within her. Rosemary, true to her middle name, had a unique grace. My life has been forever blessed by having her.

Since we first met, Ryan has been able and willing to speak for many hours. We have had too many late-night talks to count. Ryan is a great listener, has many thoughts about the world, and can solve problems. He has a gift for seeing the hearts of others, and he is the only one who has ever captured mine. In the four years I spent in college, the two years dating, and now, soon to be one year of marriage, I have been drawn into Ryan’s beautiful core.
