As we enter 2021’s very “TBD” wedding season, We’ve shared some Bridal reflections on our favorite weddings, elopements, and real weddings and reminded our brides and grooms of the fantastic tips of previous couples, which is even more pertinent today when planning weddings in Covid.
This gorgeous Oregon Elopement shoot is a beautiful way to bridge the elopement and a larger wedding for couples planning to say “I do” now and have a party afterward…
What should you do if you’ve always wanted to elope and your spouse wants a traditional wedding in the back of their mind? The real bride and groom, Coral and Matthew, know the solution: they have both.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to newly engaged couples that the pitfalls of marriage begin in planning your wedding, including food and beverage options, the number of bridesmaids and the first dance song, and the infamous ‘to first look or not to the first look’ issue. What if you’re unsure about the fundamentals of your day’s celebration? What if you’re not interested in any wedding, but your spouse does?
Coral & Matthew made it easy for themselves – why not combine the two? A traditional wedding was planned with a conventional wedding in San Francisco at a later date; the couple sped off for Oregon to Oregon Coast for a ‘faux wedding elopement.’ Perhaps influenced by numerous stunning shot shoots (like the one on BM! ), The couple enlisted the help of a small group of vendors to create an enchanting, misty atmospheric elopement that was stunning!
Lindsay Lazare Photography is a beautiful act of compromise, which will hopefully inspire couples across the world who aren’t sure how to overcome the gap between a large wedding and the ‘I do’s that are wildly popular.
Our Love Story
We connected online long before Tinder was even a thing. We were not seeking a serious relationship, and we spent several months talking before we decided to meet. We set a date and date, and Matt didn’t show up. He went to sleep and did not wake up until his alarm went off, while I acted like I didn’t care. After a lot of convincing and persistence from Matt’s side, I agreed to a re-run, and from the moment we got together, it was as if we’d known each other for years.
Matt proposed to me after six years of surprise after I returned from work. I opened my door for him to be on one knee with an ethereal heart made of rose petals. I also placed a note above him with the vital question. After that, we had champagne, played games on the board, and merrily celebrated the rest of the night.
The Elopement & Wedding Plans
Our advice for other couples is to work together. I’ve always wanted to elope only with us, and he’s always thought of an actual wedding. We were able to have both.
Our wedding ceremony will occur in San Francisco (where we both come from) however, Oregon holds an essential spot in our hearts. It’s where Matt and I moved into together, as well as the place where Matt proposed, and the area where we’re planning our wedding. Matt did not want me to abandon my dream, and therefore we agreed, together to share both.
The Dress & Attire
I wanted something elegant and simple for this. My wedding dress for the traditional wedding isn’t white, so I chose an almost blue-slate grey dress which is why finding something fun and white was essential to me. I liked the open front and lacy detail in the Divine Atelier gown.
Favorite Moments
The most enjoyable aspect during the entire day was the rain and how quiet everything was due to it. It was a fantastic experience having to be soaked and laughing about it all the with the beach entirely to us. I was enjoying meeting Lindsay (our photographer), which made us feel so much more at ease in front of the camera.
