Ladies, be brave. Northern snow brides. Although many of us shiver at the thought of freezing in the snow at our wedding, those daring enough to brave the cold are rewarded with stunning, gorgeous photographs like those taken during their special day.
We’ve always admired the Icelandic weddings featured on Bridal Musings, where we’ve shared many wedding elopements, real weddings, and inspiration for honeymoons throughout the years. It’s no wonder that we were pleasantly surprised by this latest wedding inspiration, provided by Photographer Melanie Munoz.
As with many locations of the vast North, the weather can change quickly in Iceland; therefore, grooms and brides planning to tie the knot in this beautiful winter wonderland should be well-prepared. Model brides today were dressed to withstand the harsh (or better perfectly) Icelandic weather: with the most beautiful floral bridal hat and a wedding-worthy outfit that was perfect for her whimsical wedding dress.

The wedding editorial we planned was in the moss-overgrown lava fields close to Reykjavik. However, the weather rule in Iceland states the weather changes every 10 minutes. That’s why we were blessed with about 15cm of fresh snow. So, it was a bit of an adventure to locate the location that was not completely covered in snow.
The shoot started in a midtown apartment that was light-flooded with delicious chocolate fresh from Laderach Chocolatier Suisse and what it takes to make sure getting prepared.
We drove on to an impressive waterfall. We started with a blue sky, and then, a couple of minutes later, we were greeted by a snowstorm. Then, we headed to the area of geothermal energy, Krysuvik Seltun, Reykjanes, Iceland. Imagine the smell that is prevalent there. It also provided the photos with color with a strong contrast and was distinctive. These kinds of locations aren’t found everywhere on the planet.
The gorgeous bouquet and the winter bridal dress set the elegant style of our bride.
